ALARGAN TOWELL Conducts Workshop on Fire Safety and Evacuation Plans

    The company recently organised a workshop on ‘Fire Safety and Evacuation Plans’ in collaboration with the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA). The workshop was conducted at the Al Qurm Gardens Building. At the end of the workshop, the participants took part in a practical exercise applying what was discussed during the workshop. This workshop is part of a series of events and activities that the company organises for its own employees and those of the companies operating offices and showrooms at the Building, together with the residents of the building. These events and activities aim to build awareness on a variety of issues. The latest workshop, which was well attended by the target group, was aimed at educating the participants about the importance of complying with safety rules and regulations at homes, buildings, workplaces, and public places, in order to avoid fires and consequent loss of life and property. The workshop began with a presentation on the most important information related to fire safety. Also, a number of videos were presented, focusing on the main causes of fires, related risks, and how to avoid them. The workshop also discussed several topics such as types of fires, types of fire extinguishers, and the importance of having fire extinguishers in homes, vehicles, workplaces, and closed public places; as well as reviewing the emergency evacuation plan and explaining the appropriate places for gatherings when emergencies occur. The participants showed a great level of interaction during the lecturers, talking about stories they had experienced in various different fire situations, indicating the reasons behind the fires, how they handled the situation and the losses the fire had left behind.
