Alargan Towell sponsors ORA’s 2nd Real Estate Forum

    MUSCAT: Testament to its pioneering role in the development of the real estate sector in the Sultanate, Alargan Towell Investment Company participated as a main sponsor for the second edition of ‘Real Estate Forum’ organised by the Oman Real Estate Association (ORA). The event, which was organised recently at the Crowne Plaza, Muscat saw participation from real estate companies and investors from within Oman as well as regionally. The forum topics focused on major challenges faced by real estate sector in Oman, as well as highlighting the best available solutions to overcome the challenges. Commenting on the importance of supporting events that raise the profile of the Omani real estate sector, Eng. Hisham Moussa, chief executive officer at Alargan Towell Investment noted, “The real estate forum which is organised by the Oman Real Estate Association is shaping up to be one of the most important events for the sector in the Sultanate. The forum brought together experienced real estate leaders and prominent government officials, as well as local and regional real estate experts, who addressed important topics concerning the sector. The timing of the forum added special significance, as oil prices are improving in the region, and experts are optimistic to see continuity of this improvement during the coming period.” The forum discussed a number of real estate issues, highlighting the government resolutions, especially those which were discussed in the national programme ‘Tanfeedh’, and which are directly related to real estate sector. The paper presented by Grant Salter, Head of Travel & Hospitality at Deloitte Middle East, discussed the reality of the tourism sector in Oman and the significant opportunities within the sector. He also highlighted a number of Omani tourism landmarks which are qualified to be among global destinations. Following the paper, a panel discussion was conducted, in which participants discussed the current situation of real estate market in Oman, focusing on the tourism aspect which is a key pillar in the years ahead. Additionally, Sadiq Jaafar, general manager of Al-Khunji Holding Group, presented a paper about understanding the compatibility between the legislative applications and real estate projects in the real estate sector. After that, Abdul Samad Al-Maskari, presented a paper, in which he discussed real estate investment funds, and their increasing importance for future developments. “We are proud to be a part of this significant event, as we truly understand the importance of these forums and conferences in developing and enhancing the role of real estate in the growth of investments, and highlighting the role of this sector in economic development in Oman,” he added.
